A track DJs are playing in their sets that hasn’t been officially released to buy or stream yet. Producers often hand promos to selected DJs first, so unreleased tracks can be huge in clubs long before the public can get them.
What is a white label?
A promotional or unofficial pressing distributed without full label branding, historically a plain-sleeve vinyl. Today it covers unreleased or unofficial tracks circulated among DJs ahead of, or instead of, a formal release.

Through promo pools, direct relationships with producers and labels, and DJ networks that share music ahead of release. Established DJs are often sent material to test in their sets, which is how IDs build hype before they drop.
